An Actor With Versatility-Hrithik Roshan

Each year there will be a number of actors and actresses who try their luck in Bollywood, but only some manage to get through the tough test of talent and luck. One actor who convincingly proved his ability as an actor was, Hrithik Roshan, son of producer-director Rakesh Roshan.

Hrithik entered into film industry as a child artist and appeared in Aasha, Apke Deewane and Bhagwan Dada during the'80s. He would be one of those lucky actors, who got a very successful opening in their career and a good review by critics also. His debut film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai released in 2000, gave him the opportunity to act in double roles. Not only was the film a huge success commercially, but it also bagged a number of awards to its name. Hrithik Roshan became a star within a small period of time by bagging both the best actor and best debutant actor in the Filmfare awards function. The film found a place for itself in the Limca Book of Records for getting the most number of awards for a film in single year and Kaho Na Pyaar Hai got 102 awards!

Hrithik's performance was explored more by directors like Khalid Mohammed and Vidhu Vinod Chopra in Fiza and Mission Kashmir respectively, in 2000. His performances were rated as good by film critics and this consistency was to be followed to the next year also. Kabhi Ghushi Kabhi Gham also proved to be a success at the box office and even became the second-biggest grosser of the year. He acted with some of the best talents in the industry like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Jaya Bachchan and Kajol. 2002 was not a good year for him as most of his movies flopped at the box office and his rating as a star went down. In 2003, he once again showed his excellence in acting with Koi Mil Gaya opposite to Preity Zinta and acted as a mentally challenged man. Yet another different role was given to him in Farhan Akhtar's film Lakshya where he enacted the transformation from a laid back person to a determined individual, with finesse.

Hrithik took a break from his acting career for two years and resurfaced with his super hero avatar with Krrish, the sequel of Koi Mil Gaya and he played double roles in this. He became the stylish Indian super hero who wooed the family audience tremendously. With the success of Dhoom, it was again good times for him in the industry.

Jodha Akbar and Luck By Chance let people see his remarkable performances on screen. He was critically acclaimed for enacting the character of Ethan Mascarenhas for the film Guzaarish. Audiences are awaiting for his upcoming films Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Krrish 2. Hrithik Roshan lives in Mumbai with wife Suzanne Khan and kids.
